.XXX landrush and general availability

The .XXX launch continues with a landrush period before general availability opens on 6 December. The landrush is restricted to members of the adult sponsored community, but non-members can register non-resolving names in general availability. Com Laude is offering registrations in both phases.

Landrush

The .xxx landrush period opens on Tuesday 8 November 2011 and lasts for 17 days until Friday 25 November 2011.

This period is intended for members of the adult community. Domain names are not awarded on a first come first served basis. If there is only one application for a domain name when the landrush period completes, that applicant will be awarded the domain. If there are multiple applicants for a domain name they will enter a closed auction.

Registry fees for the landrush phase are US $122, which comprises a non-refundable $60 application fee and the first year’s registration fee of $62. Com Laude fees are additional.

General availability

Non-members of the adult community who still wish to apply for domain names can apply alongside sponsored community members during the general availability phase. This opens on 6 December 2011 and operates on a first come, first served basis. Non-members names will not resolve, but ownership details will be shown on the Whois. Com Laude can provide a proxy service at the client’s request.

Registry fees for general availability are $62 per year. Com Laude fees are additional.
