Spain: Registration of IDNs under .es and .com.es available in December 2007

Spanish IDN registrations are open for any applicant from 12th December 2007. IDNs will be available under .es and .com.es.

The prices are the same than for ASCII names, with official NIC fees of €32 per annum for .es, and €13.5 per annum for .com.es.

The characters can be translated as follows:

(i) “a” => “á” , “à”.

(ii) “e” => “é” , “è”.

(iii) “i” => “í” , “ï”.

(iv) “o” => “ó” , “ò”.

(v) “u” => “ú” , “ü”.

(vi) “n”, “nh”, “ni”, “nn”, “ny”, “gn” => “ñ”.

(vii) “c” , “s” => “ç”.

(viii) “l”, “ll” => “Å€l”.
