We read lots of useful blogs about domain names, but we haven’t found one from the perspective of the trademark owner. There are plenty of trademark news sources and a few blogs that approach domain names with a newsy angle. But none bear trademarks in mind while offering opinions on and analysis of the domain name industry. That’s where this blog comes in.
People who know Com Laude know that, as one of our sayings goes, we believe the internet needs trademarks and brands to work – and that our experts plant them in the domain name system. With this blog, we aim to demonstrate this approach with commentary direct from our client managers.
This blog is not a primary news source – we’re not journalists! Nor is it a mere marketing tool. Rather, this blog is one of the ways we engage in the domain name community to develop policy, stimulate discussion and keep our fingers on the pulse of what’s happening. It is an extension of the work that our managing director Nick Wood has done for well over a decade, through his involvement with ICANN and key industry partners.
We plan to offer an insightful contribution to an industry that is always dynamic and always surprising. Hopefully our blog will reflect those attributes!
